The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine welcomes the readiness of the International Committee of the Red Cross to continue promoting the realization of the initiative of the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko on the interantional humanitarian mission for Luhansk region under the auspices of the ICRC. In this regard we support continued and strengthened presence of the International Committee of the Red Cross in the town and region of Luhansk to meet the urgent humanitarian needs of population, caused by the terrorist activities of the terrorist groups supported by the Russian Federation.

We express gratitude to the ICRC for transporting and distributing of the humanitarian assisstance provided by the Ukrainian authorities, including also in the town of Luhansk in the days to come.

We underscore once again that the Russian Federation bears all the responsibility for the terrorists, who command control over the situation in some of the areas of Luhansk region, to ensure the security of delivery of the humanitarian assisstance to the civil population of Luhansk region, as well as that of the ICRC personnel.
