On June 21, consultations with the leadership of the OSCE Special Monitoring Mission were held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine. The two sides discussed the important role on the Mission in the practical implementation of Ukraine’s President Plan on Peaceful Settlement of the Situation in the Eastern Regions of Ukraine.
Significant attention was also paid to the need to ensure security and release of hostages.
The importance of the public expression of support for the Peace Plane by all participants of the Geneva meeting, in particular, the Russian Federation was also discussed. Besides, the urgent need to take all measures to ensure a proper level of protection of the Ukrainian-Russian border on its both sides was emphasized. The sides agreed that without fulfilling these preconditions the sustainable settlement of the situation in the east of the country will remain problematic.
