Dear compatriots! Dear veterans!
Today, we bow our heads to the victims of the biggest war in the history of humanity and remember millions of fallen Ukrainians.
On June 22, 1941 Hitler’s troops invaded our land which was destined to become the center of long and bloody defensive battles and offensive operations.
In the years of the Second World War, Ukraine suffered enormous human casualties.
We pay tribute to veterans for their heroism and sacrifice. Low bow to you for withstanding, winning and saving our native land, Europe and the whole world from the enslavement. I assure that we will be worthy of your unforgettable feat.
Many decades have passed but the deadly breath of war is felt again. East of Ukraine became the arena of combat actions, people are dying.
We must decisively restore peace in the state immediately.
Dramatic events of recent months confirmed the age-old truth – people are strong in times of unity. It was so during violent struggle with Nazis and it should be the same now.
Facing the real threat, we must unite even more and secure our historical choice, protect our right to live freely on our land.
I express sincere gratitude to servicemen, law enforcers, volunteers and all concerned citizens who stood up to defend peace, sovereignty and territorial integrity of our country.
Our people gained victory in the Second World War, that’s why I am confident that as winners we will decently pass current severe challenges as well.
Bright memory to those who died for the freedom of Ukraine. Due to their feat, peace will come to our state
Glory to Ukraine!
