On June 23, in Donetsk, the meeting of Trilateral contact group on the implementation of the peaceful plan of the President on the settlement of the situation in the east of Ukraine will be held. The purpose of the meeting is to determine the stages of implementing the peaceful plan.
It is expected that Special representative of the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office Heidi Tagliavini and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation Mikhail Zurabov will take part in the negotiations. At the initiative of the Head of State, second President of Ukraine Leonid Kuchma will take part in the meeting.
Before the departure of the contact group to Donetsk, President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko held a meeting with its members in Kyiv. "Participation of Leonid Kuchma is the evidence of high attention of the Ukrainian President to this mission," the Head of State noted.
Due to the seizure of regional departments of the National Bank and the State Treasury, Petro Poroshenko instructed to ensure social payments via Kyiv. The President of Ukraine also expressed confidence that social payments will be restored locally in case premises of regional departments of the National Bank and the State Treasury are liberated and CIT vehicles are no more seized.
The first session of Trilateral contact group took place on June 8, in Kyiv. Ukraine was then represented by Ambassador of Ukraine to Germany Pavlo Klimkin who was recently appointed to the post of Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine.
Under the instruction of the Head of State, today, in Luxembourg, at the meeting of the European Union Foreign Affairs Council, Pavlo Klimkin will present the peaceful plan of the President on the settlement of the situation in the east of the country.
