On Thursday, August 14, trucks with essential goods for residents of Luhansk and Donetsk regions, who are on territories controlled by terrorists, were sent from Kyiv.
The trucks should deliver food products (including cereals, flour, pasta, canned meat and fish, sunflower oil, etc.), hygiene items, children's goods, medicines for residents of eastern Ukraine.
In total over 70 trucks with up to 800 tons of cargo are sent to eastern Ukraine today. 19 trucks withmore than 240 tons of humanitarian aid left Kyiv.
Ukraine’s Infrastructure Minister Maksym Burbak reminded that yesterday, on August 13, the Government has allocated an additional UAH 10 million for the purchase of essential goods to the citizens who are on the territories of Luhansk and Donetsk regions controlled by terrorists. "The Cabinet of Ministers has promptly complied with this order: the Agriculture Ministry provided goods and the Ministry of Infrastructure ensured transportation of this aid. The Ukraine’s Government won’t leave our people who arein the area controlled by terrorists without its support and attention," said the Minister.
According to him, the traffic police shall provide the safety of trucks. Representatives of the StateEmergency Service shall provide coordination and chief of the State Inspectorate of Ukraine on land transport security Valeriy Chernenko shall personally accompany and control the movement of the column.
As a reminder, two columns of trucks left on this day from Dnipropetrovsk and Kharkiv for the town of Starobilsk in Luhansk region, where the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) will meet them according to international rules. The ICRC shall distribute this aid among civilians in Donetsk and Luhanskregions who are on territories controlled by terrorists.
