President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko met with servicemen liberated from captivity in Donetsk region.
"We managed to liberate 25 Ukrainians. We managed to return them home alive. I am very glad of that. Many people and countries were involved in that. It is great that we already have the first result," Petro Poroshenko noted.
The President assured that he would do everything to save lives of Ukrainian soldiers and civilians. "Despite losses and grief, we are strong and proud when we have soldiers for whom honor, dignity, Ukraine are not simple words, but life," the President emphasized.
The Head of State reminded that more than 100 people were still in captivity of terrorists. "In no case shall we stop the struggle for the liberation of our citizens. Each one of them is Ukrainian and each one of them must be free. Ukrainians strive for peace. We will help everyone who strives for peace," Petro Poroshenko stressed.
"We will surely win because we are Ukrainians, we are together and the truth is with us! We do not want to harm anyone, but we are strong and we have learned how to fight. We have learned how to defend the state. We love it so much and we will not give our Ukraine to anyone," Petro Poroshenko said.
Servicemen expressed gratitude to the President and to all people involved in their liberation. Oleksandr Chernyshov, one of the liberated, who spent 17 days in captivity said: "Most of all we are grateful to the state for providing assistance and not forgetting about us because we have had no hope already".
