The Russian Federation that changed from being the neighbouring country to the hostile country aims to destroy Ukraine both politically and economically. The Prime Minister of Ukraine Arseniy Yatsenyuk stated on Tuesday, August 19, during a meeting with representatives of the largest agricultural producers of Ukraine in Cherkasy region in the framework of a roundtable "The principal aspects of the Government's comprehensive package of changes to the tax system (the Concept of reforming the tax system of Ukraine)”.
“Do you understand what Russia is doing? It doesn’t just carry out the military intervention, it doesn’t just carry out the political intervention. Above all, it ruins Ukraine’s economy and policy", - said the Head of Government.
According to him, as a result of such actions of the Russian side Ukraine is experiencing hard times, as the civilians, infrastructure objects, mines, factories, etc. are subjected to bombing. "And it is the intentional bombing with the aim to completely knock out the economic basis of the development", - said the Prime Minister.
"The situation is daunting in Ukraine. I just lack simple phrases how to describe it. To say it is difficult means to say nothing. War, victims, tragedy, neighbor, who happens to be not a neighbor but he turned into an enemy, and we must call things by their proper names, who encroaches on the country, on our land, on your business", - said the Prime Minister of Ukraine.
Arseniy Yatsenyuk noted Ukraine suffered serious losses from the Russian aggression. "If we calculated first that according to the preliminary estimations we need UAH 8 billion to restore Donbas, it could happen we need USD 8 billion. The mines are flooded intentionally. Alchevsk is being bombed for the fourth day already... It means there is purposeful attack: they kill people and destroy the economy," said Arseniy Yatsenyuk.
He stressed that Putin wages war in the East, "fights against Ukraine, including targeting to capture the territories from which one can feed and earn". Nowadays as a result of the Russian military intervention Ukrainian agrarians have lost 15% of the harvest, and that is billions of dollars. "When everyone can see that Russian tanks, Russian artillery are shooting, the Russian agents are roaming in Donetsk and Luhansk, we have lost 15% of the gross harvest because of them. Personal gratitude to Putin - he personally did that together with his thugs".
The head of Government noted that in these circumstances it is important for the Ukrainians to be united and fight for peace: "Guys, we must survive. We can do that only together."
