President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko presented the "Strategy of Reforms - 2020" in Kharkiv and urged Kharkiv community to take part in the discussion and implementation of his program of state reformation.
"The purpose of our ambitious reforms is to achieve European standards of life and prepare to the application for a membership in the EU in 2020," the President said in the Y. Mudyi National Law Academy of Kharkiv.
Petro Poroshenko noted that the intellectual potential of the academy was necessary for the implementation of judicial reform. "I think that the law academy knows well that the main reform is judicial reform," the President said.
"The country has changed," the President noted. According to him, "love to the Motherland, common struggle of Ukrainian-speaking and Russian-speaking people for their Homeland, for freedom, dignity and the right to a future have destroyed the division of the country on geographic, ethnic and language basis". Petro Poroshenko particularly stressed that "one of the main factors of sustainable development has emerged in Ukraine - stable and sustainable democratic Ukrainian political community".
The President expressed hope that on Tuesday the Parliament would adopt his draft law on National Anti-Corruption Bureau. The next step should be the abolishment of parliamentary immunity. Also, the President called to bring to criminal liability those who facilitated the split in the country.
"Finally, the implementation of the "Strategy - 2020" should mean the availability of work, decent salary, pension, scholarship and successful business," the Head of State emphasized.
