Today, the Ukrainian army is able and ready to defend the borders of our state, President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko said at the meeting with heads of security forces.
"There are no grounds for panic. In recent two months, we have elaborated and implemented serious steps on the preparation of our Armed Forces and other units to defend Ukraine," the Head of State noted.
"In case the developments are contrary to the Minsk plan, the Armed Forces of Ukraine will be able and ready to rebuff," the President emphasized.
He stressed that Ukraine had always stood for the peaceful resolution of the situation in the Donbas and paid maximum efforts to prevent the escalation. "We only see peaceful and political solution to the situation in certain areas of Donetsk and Luhansk regions. However, we have got forces and means to defend the state. We should keep the powder dry," the Head of State noted.
According to Petro Poroshenko, to ensure the needs of militaries, the national economy is currently working under the principle "everything for the front, everything for the victory". He emphasized that significant efforts had been paid recently to reinforce and provide additional equipment to the militaries in the ATO area.
