The Ukrainian President met 145 Ukrainian warriors liberated from captivity at Vasylkiv military airfield tonight.

The Head of State has welcomed the liberated warriors on the Ukrainian land and expressed respect for their feat.

"My heart is full of happiness because you can spend the New Year holidays with your families and comrades-in-arms just as I've promised," the Head of State said.

"Relatives, friends and comrades-in-arms have been waiting for you. Finally, this day has come. Unfortunately, not everyone has returned yet. 4 our fellow Ukrainians will return tomorrow. We will keep on searching and won't leave anyone there. The state will fight for every faithful son," the President noted.

"Thousands of Ukrainians share our happiness today. After long days, weeks and months, you have finally returned home unbroken. You didn't betray the Homeland, always held morale and demonstrated the best qualities of the Ukrainian warrior," Petro Poroshenko emphasized.

Militaries from different units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the National Guard, battalion "Peacekeeper", battalion "Donbas", other volunteer battalions, as well as several volunteers, who had been assisting our soldiers, have been in captivity for several months. Ukraine has been holding negotiations on the liberation of our warriors for a long time.

All warriors have been transported to warm premises. They will meet with their families and friends today.
