President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko and other global leaders have taken part in the March of Unity and solidarity with victims of terrorist attacks happened in France on the 7th and the 9th of January. The event has been attended by leaders of Ukraine, Germany, UK, Italy, Belgium, Spain, Slovenia, Poland, Turkey, Greece, Israel, Palestine, the EU, the European Parliament and the European Commission.
The Head of State has noted that Ukraine understood the pain of France as nobody else. "The March of Unity has united all civilized countries of the world in France. Today, we are defending the values of democracy and freedom of speech together," Petro Poroshenko said. "I believe that humanism and unity will always overcome terror," the President has emphasized.
Hundreds of thousands of people came out to the streets of Paris in order to pay tribute to the murdered Charlie Hebdo journalists and other victims of terrorist attacks.
Participants of the March have assembled on Place de la République, expressed their solidarity with ideas of freedom of speech, freedom of thought and rejection of terrorism, and called for tolerance, peace and struggle against terrorism in all its manifestations.
