President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko had a meeting with U.S. Vice President Joseph Biden in New York.
The Head of State thanked the USA for supporting Ukraine, particularly for a powerful statement by President of the United States Barack Obama at the UN General Assembly.
The parties agreed that Russia must fully implement the Minsk agreements.
The U.S. Vice President emphasized that the issue of Ukraine’s security was not in any way related to the situation in Syria. Joseph Biden praised the conclusion of the agreement in Minsk on September 29 on the withdrawal of heavy weaponry of caliber less than 100 mm.
The parties coordinated their positions on the eve of the meeting in the Normandy format that will take place on October 2 in Paris.
