In the course of the state visit to Israel, President Petro Poroshenko and his wife Maryna Poroshenko visited the Holocaust memorial complex "Yad Vashem".

The Head of State noted that the given memorial reminded new generations about the dreadful crimes of the World War II and the Holocaust tragedy.

According to the President, Ukraine is a nation of people who were saving Jews in times of Nazism. Petro Poroshenko reminded that in 2016, Ukraine would commemorate the victims of Babi Yar. "We will commemorate this tragic date at the highest level," the President noted and urged everyone to join this commemoration. The Head of State noted that "it is important for the whole world, especially in times of global threat of terrorism".
