January 28, 2016. SSAU Deputy Chairman Volodymyr Mikheyev held a working meeting with representatives of Italian companies working in the field of space exploration. The purpose of the visit of Italian delegation was to expand cooperation with Ukrainian enterprises for development, launching and operation of satellites.

Volodymyr Mikheyev noted the existing potential of cooperation between enterprises of Ukrainian space industry and Italian Republic in implementing joint projects including those ordered by European Space Agency.

Enrico Saggese – representative of the ON-AIR Consulting & Solutions, former President of Italian Space Agency presented to Ukrainian experts the capabilities of space observatory LISA Pathfinder, which had been put into orbit on December 3, 2015 onboard the European light-class launcher Vega (cruise engine of the launcher was developed and produced by Ukrainian enterprises).

The Parties exchanged their views on possible areas of cooperation and proposals on specific events to be held in the near future.
