IAC members unfurled a banner with a call for liberation of Ukrainian pilot, member of the Ukrainian Parliament Nadiya Savchenko who is illegally retained in Russian prison.

At the opening session of the International Advisory Council, President Petro Poroshenko drew attention to the case of Savchenko who is accused of murdering Russian journalists in Donbas.

"She is not only a Ukrainian officer, patriot and symbol of Ukrainian women. She is also an evidence of Russian aggression. 19 months ago, Russian special units detained her and illegally sent to Russia," the President said.

Petro Poroshenko emphasized that President of Russia Putin must hear the demand for Savchenko's liberation from the whole world.
