President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko had a meeting with European Commissioner for European Neighbourhood Policy and Enlargement Negotiations Johannes Hahn.
The Ukrainian President emphasizes that the positive dynamics in the implementation of reforms confirms Ukraine’s willingness and commitment to move forward on the track of change despite external challenges.
He noted that visa liberalization and completion of the entry into force of the Association Agreement with the EU would become not only a recognition of the results achieved by Ukraine, but also a story of success of the EU itself and a response to euroscepticism arguments.
The EU Commissioner assured that the European Union would further support Ukraine by all possible means on the path of implementation of the internal reforms.
Special attention was paid to the security situation in Donbas and fulfillment of the Minsk agreements.
It was clearly stated that full ceasefire by Russian militants and implementation of other Minsk security components were the key prerequisite to the efficient advancement of the political process of settlement in Donbas.
Johannes Hahn reiterated the immutability of the European Union’s position concerning the recognition of the occupation of Crimea by Russia.
