Skeet shooting 2000 Olympic gold medalist Mykola Milchev will carry out an honourable mission to bear Ukraine’s national flag at the Opening Ceremony of Rio Olympics which are to take place on August 5th, 2016, at Maracana Stadium.

Mykola Michev also won 9 ISSF World Cup medals, holding Olympic record and three world records. He is the oldest athlete of Ukraine Olympic team in Rio, participating his 4th Games.

The decision to honour Milchev was made at the team’s meeting at the Olympic village.

Milchev said after the meeting, “This year I celebrate 30th anniversary of making national team. Rio 2016 is the fourth Olympics for me. To bear a flag at the Opening was a dream of my life, and now it has come true. I am absolutely happy and proud to carry out this honourable mission’.
