Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman held a meeting with UEFA President Alexander Ceferin. The interlocutors discussed the issues of holding the Final of the UEFA Champions League, which will be held in Kyiv in May 2018.
"The final of the 2018 Champions League is a significant project, but Ukraine is ready for it. I strongly believe that we will hold all necessary measures to ensure best organization of the Champions League in Kyiv. I know for sure that together we will prepare the event of top quality," said Volodymyr Groysman.
In this regard, the Head of the Government expressed readiness to upgrade the operational plan for preparation of the event.
The Prime Minister stressed that the Ukrainian Government supports mass sports in the country and has an ambitious plan for the next year to begin large-scale restoration of stadiums across the country.
"I think it will be rather good signal to all those who are involved in sports, football, for all those who want to play this wonderful sport. And it will be a contribution to development of our country", said Volodymyr Groysman.
He emphasized that Ukraine had always traditionally had a good football school and football occupied a special place with Ukrainians.
In this context, the Prime Minister noted that the Government was interested in creating a strategy of development of football basing on a practical approach to the elaboration of it.
"Ukrainian football will have success," he accentuated.
