On 21 February 2017 during his visit to the UN headquarters, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Pavlo Klimkin met with United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres.

The parties discussed the results of the UN Security Council open debate on conflicts in Europe as well as possible areas of UN cooperation with regional organizations to increase the effectiveness of preventive diplomacy in Europe.

Special attention was paid to the issue of the Russian-Ukrainian conflict and the state of implementation of the Minsk Agreements.

Pavlo Klimkin renewed the invitation to the Secretary-General to visit Ukraine.
