President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko held a meeting with Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs of Great Britain Boris Johnson and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Poland Witold Waszczykowski.
The Head of State thanked Great Britain and Poland for a firm support of Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
The parties discussed the course of implementation of the Minsk agreements and the situation in Donbas. Particularly, they discussed the importance of compliance with the regime of EU sanctions against Russia until it fully implements the undertaken commitments within the Minsk process and restores Ukraine’s territorial integrity.
The Ukrainian President praised the completion of trilateral negotiations between the European Council, European Parliament and European Commission as regards the abolition of the visa regime for Ukrainians and emphasized the need for speeding up this process. “We are hopeful that the European Parliament will be able to adopt this decision shortly giving a green light for the European Council to introduce the visa-free regime for Ukrainians,” the Head of State noted. The President thanked for the contribution of Poland and Great Britain in that issue and expressed hope for their further support.
The parties also touched upon the issue of implementation of the Association Agreement between Ukraine and the EU. The President expressed hope that the Netherlands will complete the process of ratification in the nearest time.
In the framework of bilateral interaction, the parties discussed the organization of the Ukrainian President’s visit to Great Britain in the nearest time.
