The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine strongly condemns the airstrikes and indiscriminate shelling carried out around Aleppo during last days that caused death of dozens of civilians in Syria including children.

The bombardment of Al-Quds hospital in Aleppo is especially cynical as it led to death of doctors who have saved the lives of thousands of people.

Ukraine observes with deep concerns the escalation of the situation in Syria over the last week, which may mock all efforts made by international community towards peaceful settlement of the Syrian conflict and put on the brink of collapse fragile ceasefire regime in the country.

We call on all sides to comply strictly with their obligations under the UNSC Resolution 2268 concerning the cessation of hostilities and to discuss substantively in Geneva all aspects stipulated in UNSC Resolution 2254.
