The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine strongly condemns the terrorist acts committed in Baghdad on May 17, 2016, and other cities in Iraq before, resulting in the killing and wounding hundreds of people, including civilians of Iraqi capital, women and children.

We express our deep condolences to the families of those killed in the attacks and we hope for faster recovery of all those injured.

The recent increase of number of terrorist attacks confirms the need to intensify international efforts to combat terrorism and ensure stability in Iraq.

Ukraine consistently supports the Republic of Iraq, the friendly Iraqi people in overcoming the challenges and threats of terrorism.
