Ukraine welcomes the international efforts aimed at bringing new dynamics to the Middle East settlement and seeking opportunities for the resumption of negotiations between the Israeli and Palestinian sides.

The publication of the report of the Quartet on July 1, 2016, which contains relevant recommendations, is considered as an important step in this process.

As a member of the UN Security Council Ukraine believes that the Middle East settlement can be based only on goodwill and mutual concessions from both sides to the conflict.

Therefore Ukraine stands for compromise solution of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict based on the principle of coexistence of two states in peace and security, putting in end to violence and halting settlement activity.
