The Government is seriously concerned about the situation which arose regarding the counting of votes in the elections to the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine in some single-mandate constituencies.
As Prime Minister of Ukraine I've repeatedly spoken out about this.
Meanwhile, succession of events encourages us to officially call upon political parties and candidates, who're caught up in conflicts of counting votes, to stop these conflicts and to start a dialogue with each other.
The Government is ready to be instrumental in adjusting and conducting such a dialogue.
I'd ask the Central Election Commission to ensure the completion of counting votes within stipulated by the legislation terms and to take all of the necessary measures.
As it's known, the President of Ukraine has instructed the Prosecutor General to analyze facts of violation legislation during elections in single-mandate constituencies. To ensure the objectivity of the investigation, the President has decided to dismiss from position of Deputy Head of the Regional State Administration - as one of the candidates to MPs.
The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine has formed a temporary investigatory commission to find out a state of compliance with the electoral law in some single-mandate constituencies.
The Government is ready to render help all these efforts.
In turn, I instruct the law enforcement authorities to sort out all the facts of violations that have occurred, to give them legal assessment and take appropriate steps for the legal response.
Of course, by the election results, we'll take into account all remarks of international observers to make election law more perfect to be fully in line with European standards and requirements.
I believe it's necessary to return to the development of the Electoral Code, which will make it possible to improve the electoral legislation effectively.
To that end, I instruct the Ministry of Justice, after the official announcement of the election results, to initiate conducting a roundtable with the participation of political parties, civil society organizations and experts to analyze the drawbacks revealed during the election campaign in 2012, and make suggestions for improving the electoral legislation.
Finally, I'd like to call upon all political parties, who're concerned about the fate of our country, to begin negotiations in order to build a broad coalition based on European values - for the consolidation of all healthy forces of society in order to further development and implementation of Ukraine's European integration policy.
