The ceremony of inauguration of President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko took place in the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on June 7, 2014. More than 60 foreign official delegations, including 23 heads of state and government, parliament and heads of the international organizations as well as representatives of the diplomatic corps accredited in Ukraine participated in the inaugural ceremony.
In his inauguration speech, President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko announced plan of restoration of peace in the Eastern regions of our country. This plan foresees exemption from criminal responsibility for those who do not have blood of Ukrainian soldiers and civilians on their hands, creation of the controlled corridor for Russian mercenaries and launching peaceful dialogue with all peaceful citizens of Ukraine.
Implementation of the constitutional reform, decentralization of power, carrying out economic reforms and fight with corruption will become important pillars of internal changes in Ukraine.
Following European integration course is one of the most important foreign policy priorities of Ukraine. The Head of state considers signing and future implementation of the Association Agreement as a significant step towards full membership of Ukraine in the European Union. The President also expressed his readiness to start negotiations with the Russian Federation. At the same time, there will be no compromise on Crimea, the European choice and the state system of Ukraine – the President said.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine calls on the international community to support the President of Ukraine in carrying out the comprehensive peace plan, restoring the territorial integrity of Ukraine and implementing systematic economic reforms.
