As part of his visit to Brussels, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Pavlo Klimkin conduct a bilateral meeting with the EU Commissioner for Trade Karel De Gucht.
The parties exchanged views on further steps on the implementation of the agreements reached on 12 September during EU-Ukraine-Russia Tripartite Ministerial Meeting on the Association Agreement between Ukraine and the EU.
In this regard, the Minister stressed that Ukrainian side is ready to continue constructive tripartite dialogue to find a solution to the problematic issues related to implementation of the Agreement as well as addressing the concerns of the Russian side.
P.Klimkin expressed confidence that the trade provisions of the Association Agreement Implementation Plan, approved by the Government, would be implemented in terms consistent with the principles of AA provisional application.
The parties discussed the state of preparation of the EU legislative proposal concerning the extension of the regime of autonomous trade preferences for products originated in Ukraine by the end of 2015 as well as measures of the EU side for the additional support of Ukrainian export potential.
P.Klimkin and K.De Gucht once again confirmed that amendments to the Association Agreement between Ukraine and the EU at the request of a third side are unacceptable.
