On the ballot day, the President arrived to Kramatorsk which had been liberated from terrorists. He inspected the process of voting at two polling stations.
He mentioned the record voter turnout and expressed gratitude for such civil activeness.
Petro Poroshenko communicated with soldiers and expressed gratitude to them for their everyday feat. “Your service, your selflessness for the sake of Ukraine is a feat. For me and for millions of Ukrainians you are heroes and we are grateful to you for our peaceful life. Thank you for that,” the President said.
The Head of State emphasized that he “had arrived to protect the servicemen’s right to vote”. According to the President, two-thirds of servicemen in the ATO area didn’t have an opportunity to be included in the list of voters. “In 48 hours we managed to provide an opportunity for more than 10 thousand militaries in the ATO area to elect their authorities and fulfill their constitutional right. It is extremely important,” Petro Poroshenko noted.
The President also had a conversation with voters and expressed gratitude to them for unity. He emphasized that the elections were held in significant part of the Donbas liberated from terrorists – Sloviansk, Kramatorsk, Severodonetsk, Lysychansk, Rubizhne, Kostiantynivka, Mariupol. The authorities will do everything to ensure the security of voters, the Head of State assured.
The Head of State arrived to Kramatorsk by helicopter. Before that, the President inspected fortifications. “We are working under the schedule in the context of the supply of military equipment, restoration of combat capability and positioning our militaries in the defense line,” the President stressed.
The President expressed content with the fulfillment of these three tasks: protection of the rights of servicemen, guarantees of fair expression of will in the Donbas and construction of fortifications.
