Dear compatriots!
I congratulate you on the holiday of democracy!
Polling stations at which dozens of millions of citizens have been electing the new Verkhovna Rada have been closed just now. The election campaign and the ballot day have been held fairly, democratically, transparently and with high level of political competition. The count of votes that has just started will also be held under the European standards.
The exit polls results allow making the first conclusions. Yesterday I asked you to vote for democratic, reformist, pro-Ukrainian and pro-European majority. Thank you for hearing and supporting this call!
Constitutional majority – more than three quarters of voters powerfully and irreversibly supported the course towards Europe!
Ukrainian authorities that participated in the elections in several columns received a convincing vote of confidence from the people. The lists of ruling parties gained more than 50%. Ukrainian government has never received such a level of support in the parliamentary elections. Still, I understand that it is a loan that we have to return to the people by our hard and selfless work.
I am glad that the majority of people voted in favor of the political forces that support the peace plan of the President, seek political means to address the situation in the Donbas and pay due attention to the strengthening of the Armed Forces.
Supporters of forceful settlement of the situation found themselves in obvious minority. It also relates to all demagogues and populists who tried to seduce voters with simple recipes for “treatment” of extremely complicated problems. People voted for the political majority with a powerful reformist potential.
Another important and symbolic conclusion. People’s Court above which is only the justice of Heaven has passed a death sentence to the Communist Party of Ukraine. For the first time in 96 years there will be no communists in the Ukrainian parliament. Ukrainians have made a final hit to the fifth political column!
The Party of Regions couldn’t participate in the elections at all due to the complete loss of voters’ trust. Elections are the best lustration.
Dear compatriots!
The results of exit-polls demonstrate that I was not mistaken when making a decision on the parliamentary elections. In several days, when I will see the official data, probably I will be able to say that, as President, I am satisfied with the results of the elections.
The reload of state power is about to finish. Delay with reforms is fatal for us. Thus, I expect rapid formation of new coalition. I will not be a simple observer although this process is a duty of political parties and MPs. I will maximally accelerate this process that should end with the formation of a new Government and the adoption of the first package of reformist laws.
My team has already drafted a detailed project of coalition agreement. It is not about posts. It is about principles and ideals, reforms and concrete laws. It is about changes for the best for everyone.
Dear Ukrainians!
Thank you for your support of democratic course!
I once again congratulate you on the day of true expression of will!
It is time to unite for the sake of our Motherland!
Glory to Ukraine!
