In the course of the official visit to Moldova, President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko has held negotiations with President of Moldova Nicolae Timofti and President of Poland Bronislaw Komorowski.
The Ukrainian President expressed gratitude to the President of Moldova for hospitality and organization of trilateral meeting. He emphasized that Moldova, as the country of the "Eastern Partnership", had achieved significant success in the improvement of the people's welfare and the development of the country's infrastructure on its way to the European integration.
In the context of the parliamentary elections in Moldova that will be held on November 30, the President of Ukraine expressed hope that "there will be no alternative to the European path of Moldova's development". The Head of State wished the people of Moldova to hold fair and free elections that would reaffirm the pro-European choice of Moldova. "It is important for Ukraine, for Poland and for the entire Europe," he stressed.
"There is no alternative to the European integration. This visit is symbolic. With the support of Poland, Moldova and Ukraine will continue their movement to the EU," President Poroshenko stated.
Petro Poroshenko also expressed gratefulness to Nicolae Timofti and Bronislaw Komorowski for the position of solidarity in the support of independence and territorial integrity of Ukraine.
The Head of State positively evaluated bilateral cooperation with the western neighbor and emphasized that the implementation of the Association Agreements with the EU would open new opportunities on the development of mutually beneficial cooperation for Ukraine and Moldova.
The President also expressed belief that "despite the fact that Ukraine, being the object of aggression, is going through one of the most difficult challenges in its history, pro-European coalition and pro-European Government will be soon established in order to continue reforms". "We would like to have pro-European Moldova next to us," he added.
