Awarding prominent women, the President drew attention to the feat of Nadiya Savchenko: "I would like to remind a woman who became a symbol of Ukraine and Ukrainian women all over the world. Her actions and behavior make a huge deal for Ukraine".

Commenting on her decision to go on "dry" hunger strike, the President noted that Ukraine would double its efforts to bring her back home. "It is crucially important for me and for all Ukrainians," Petro Poroshenko said.

The President is confident that Russia has no fair trial. "This farce shouldn't be continued," he added. "I have read her speech prepared for the court. Unbreakable will of the Ukrainian officer who defended the Homeland with weapons in her hands ensured a powerful support inside Ukraine. Today, every Ukrainian is proud of every Ukrainian Hero and Nadiya Savchenko is among those Heroes," the President emphasized.

About 1200 women have already taken part in the anti-terrorist operation.
