President Petro Poroshenko noted that protection of rights of Crimean Tatars and coordination of joint actions aimed at restoring Ukrainian sovereignty in Crimea would be among priorities of his negotiations with Turkish leaders. It was stated at the meeting with representatives of Ukrainians and Crimean Tatars who live in Turkey.
"Brutal violation of human rights in Crimea in the course of the Russian occupation is absolutely unacceptable," Petro Poroshenko stressed.
The Head of State thanked Crimean Tatars for their firm stand in the issue of preserving sovereignty, territorial integrity and independence of Ukraine and non-recognizing the illegal annexation of Ukrainian Crimea by Russia.
The President emphasized that the Ukrainian-Turkish relations are at a very high level. According to him, Ukraine and Turkey will discuss the issues of security in the Black Sea region, economic cooperation and social protection.
"We are grateful to Turkey for its constant and firm support for the Ukrainian sovereignty and independence," the Head of State noted.
