The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine strongly condemns terrorist attacks in Mali, in particular today’s assault against the UN peacekeeping base (MINUSMA).

In light of the most recent terrorist attack against UN peacekeepers in Somalia, we state that the today’s bold attack in Timbuktu is an evidence of the on-going terrorist activity in this region aimed at undermining the peacekeeping efforts in Africa that would inevitably lead to a new round of destabilization.

We call on the international community to consolidate its counter-terrorism efforts in order to fight terrorism in all its aspects and on all continents.
