In the course of the official visit to the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko met with faction leader of the ruling Conservative Party David Lidington, head of the “group of friendship” on relations with Ukraine in the British Parliament Gerald Howarth and Chair of the Foreign Affairs Select Committee Crispin Blunt.
The parties praised an active nature of interparliamentary dialogue between Ukraine and Great Britain, particularly contacts on the line of bilateral parliamentary “groups of friendship”.
The Head of State commended the visit to Donbas of the delegation of the Committee of the House of Commons of the British Parliament and the recommendations regarding the need for the continuation of the regime of sanctions against Russia drafted following this visit.
The parties discussed the issue of Ukrainian-British cooperation on the NATO line and the implementation of structural reforms in Ukraine.
Special attention was paid to the enhancement of interpersonal contacts between the two states and the issue of studying English.
The President urged to liberalize visa regime for Ukrainians.
