In the course of the official visit to the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko had a meeting with business representatives of the given country.
The Head of State told about the implementation of reforms in Ukraine over the past three years and the main results achieved as for today. Key focus was aimed at the creation of the investment climate, judicial reform, struggle against corruption, reform of banking and energy sector. The President also informed on the launch of electronic open register of VAT refund in April 2017.
The Head of State emphasized that he believes in a promising future of Ukrainian-British trade and investment partnership. According to him, Great Britain has become one of the biggest foreign investors in Ukraine with over 2 billion U.S. dollars and dozens of thousands of jobs. The President noted a successful cooperation of Ukrainian enterprise Antonov and British company Dowty Propellers in the creation of transport aircraft An-132D.
Petro Poroshenko also welcomed the interest of British companies in Ukraine, particularly of Unilever that founded a tea factory in Kyiv region and of Hutchison Ports that is planning to enter the Ukrainian market of maritime container transportation in the short run. “Success of these projects in our country will certainly become a good example for other investors, as well as an important signal of trust in the Ukrainian reforms,” Petro Poroshenko stressed.
The President invited British businessmen to invest in Ukraine.
