The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine has repeatedly underscored the impermissibility of the stay of Russian officials without Ukraine’s consent on the sovereign territory of Ukraine within its internationally recognized borders which includes the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol.
Ukrainian side considers this and alike so called “visits” of the Russian leadership as further attempts of legitimization of the illegal annexation of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol which have resulted into economic, social and humanitarian problems on the peninsular as well as Russia’s defiant neglect of the state sovereignty of Ukraine, UN Charter, UN General Assembly А/RES/68/262 “Territorial integrity of Ukraine”, Baku Declaration, OSCE Parliamentary Assembly’s Resolutions, Russia’s commitments in accordance with the Treaty on Friendship, Cooperation and Partnership between Ukraine and the Russian Federation (1997) and other norms of the international law.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine declares that the Russian Federation as a state-occupant, its officials and illegal so called “crimean authorities” and their representatives who make illegal decisions and take illegal actions bear full responsibility in accordance with the norms of the international law.
